A novel formula derived by using ABC algorithm for calculation of the average fiber diameter of electrospun poly (Ԑ-caprolactone) scaffolds

The characteristics of a scaffold that is the basic component tissue engineering are considerably influenced by fiber diameter fibrous scaffolds. Since significant effect on properties, many researchers have focused estimating based electrospinning parameters. With similar motivation, in this paper, new and simple closed-form expression, which can help fabricating electrospun poly (ԑ-caprolactone) (PCL) with desired diameter, presented. In order to construct expression proposed, an experimental study has been performed obtain data set, 25 including average (AFD) values dependent different combinations parameters such as voltage, solution concentration, tip collector (TTC) distance, flow rate. Then, constructed used estimate AFD PCL, coefficients were determined using artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm. validate estimation ability metrics mean absolute error (MAE) percentage (MAPE) used, optimization test errors respectively obtained 3.30% 1.27% terms MAPE. addition, results compared those reported literature. Results show our be successfully PCL prior process. Thus, number repetitions could reduced time, cost, labor saved way. This contributes literature because there only limited studies focus nanofiber despite about various polymers.
